The list of publications of employees of the NTI Center "New Production Technologies" of SPbPU, the Engineering Center (CompMechLab®) of SPbPU includes books, textbooks, expert-analytical reviews, articles published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as in conference proceedingsBorovkov AI, Bolsunovskaya MV, Gintciak AM Intelligent data analysis for infection spread prediction // Sustainability.2022 Vol.14. No. 4. (doi.org/10.3390/su14041995) (H-index = 85, Q1-Q2).abstract.Intelligent data analysis based on artificial intelligence and Big Data tools is widely used by the scientific community to overcome global challenges. One of these challenges is the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, which began in early 2020. Data science not only provides an opportunity to assess the impact caused by a pandemic, but also to predict the infection spread. In addition, the model expansion by economic, social, and infrastructural factors makes it possible to predict changes in all spheres of human activity in competitive epidemiological conditions. This article is dedicated to the use of anonymized and personal data in predicting the coronavirus infection spread. The basic “Susceptible–Exposed–Infected–Recovered” model was extended by including a set of demographic, administrative, and social factors. The developed model is more predictive and applicable in assessing future pandemic impact. After a series of simulation experiment results, we concluded that personal data use in high-level modeling of the infection spread is excessive.Mohan M., Ramachandran A., Amran M., Borovkov A. Determination of Buckling Behavior of Web Stiffened Cold-Formed Steel Built-Up Column under Axial Compression // Materials.2022 Vol.15. No. 9, 2968. https://doi.org/10.3390/ma15092968 (H-index = 111, Q2) Abstract. The practice of utilizing cold-drawn steel for structural and non-structural elements goes on expanded nowadays.Due to being lighter in weight, economic section, desirable in fabrication, post-buckling behavior of cold-formed steel sections preferred over Hot rolled section. The cold-drawn steel section back to the back-lipped channel section has a wide application as a structural member. The fasteners are provided at regular intervals for the long-span structure to prevent individual failures. This study is concerned about the inadequacy in research on addressing the behavior of built-up columns. The relevant built-up column section is chosen based on the AISI-100:2007 specification.A total of 36 specimens were designed and tested by varying web, flange, lip dimensions, spacing between the chords, and battened width subjected to an axial compression experimentally.Comparing36 specimens experimentally buckled specimen with the model generated by FEM accompanied with ASI recommended two direct strength methods(DSM).The DSM comprises the step-by-step procedure incorporated with the elastic, critical, and global distortion interaction.Based on the performed reliability analysis such as the experimental, analytical and theoretical studies, the failure load, buckling mode, the economic section, and design rules were proposed. From the proposal four suitable sections were selected and validation study is carried out. From the Validation study experimental values found to (be 1.072 times of FEM values and DSM values found to be 0.97 times of FEM values. Based on the major findings of this study, the proposed design recommendation and the corrected value for DSM are suitable for the design of back-to-back stiffened columns.Amran M., Makul M, Fediuk R., Borovkov A., Ali M., Zeyad AM A review on building design as a biomedical system for preventing COVID-19 pandemic // Buildings.2022 Vol.12. No. 5, 582;https://doi.org/10.3390/buildings12050582 (H-index = 29, Q1-Q2) Abstract.Sustainable design methods aim to get architectural solutions that assure the coexistence and welfare of human beings, inorganic structures, and living things that constitute ecosystems. The novel coronavirus emergence, inadequate vaccines against the present severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-(2 SARS-CoV-2), and increases in microbial resistance have made it essential to review the preventing approaches used during pre-antibiotic periods.Apart from low carbon emissions and energy, sustainable architectures for facilities, building designs, and digital modeling should incorporate design approaches to confronting the impacts of communicable infections. This review aims to determine how people and employees can be made harmless from architectural design and modeling viewpoints to highlight the architects' roles in combating coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and designing guidelines as a biomedical system for policymakers. The goals include exploring the hospital architecture evolution and the connection between architectural space and communicable infections and recommending design and digital modeling strategies to improve infection prevention and controls.Based on a wide-ranging literature review, it is found that design methods have often played important roles in the prevention and control of infectious diseases and as well could be a solution for combating the widespread of novel coronavirus or coronavirus variants or delta.Borovkov A.I., Bychenok V.A., Prokhorovich V.E.et al. The role of friction stir welding in the production of products of the rocket and space industry // Welding and Diagnostics, 2022, No. 3, 36-42.Annotation.Friction stir welding (FSW) has many advantages over other types of welding, making FSW widely used in many industries. The article provides an overview of the world and domestic experience in the use of STP in the production of products for the rocket and space industry. The features of the STP technology, which hinder the introduction of STP in the domestic rocket industry, and the prospects for further development of the STP technology are considered.Rudskoy A.I.Digital industry based on digital twins // Devices.2021.
