A man was rescued after being pinned between two vehicles Thursday in Jamaica Plain.

The incident occurred on a slight hill near the intersection of Eldridge Road and Wachusett Street. A neighbor said the victim was pinned between his own pickup truck and a parked car after the pickup rolled forward.

"I heard, like, a grating noise and then I heard the engine of the truck," said Patricia Durning, who looked out her window and saw her neighbor pinned between the vehicles. "He got out of the truck to move the (trash) barrel off the street onto the sidewalk And somehow he got wedged between his truck and my neighbor's car."

The Boston Fire Department arrived quickly.

"They were like engineers," Durning said. "They assessed the situation and then they brought out all this equipment.

NewsCenter 5's camera was there for the rescue, as police, firefighters and EMS freed the man from between the Toyota pickup and a sedan. They put blocks under the pickup and pulled the truck away from the man before quickly putting him on a stretcher.

After first responders successfully freed the man, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials have not released information about the extent of his injuries.
